NURSERY MANAGER JOB POSTING

Details & Requirements
• Managers must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Rabies pre-exposure vaccine series and titer are required before starting
• Managers need a vehicle as they will be working both at the Grant (mammal) or Inver Grove Heights (Avian) and Roseville locations
• Managers must:
o be capable of lifting 30 lbs from the floor
o be able to be on their feet for 8 hours at a time
o be able to work on the floor
o be able to work in varying weather conditions
o maintain the wild nature of patients by following WRC policies and procedures
o treat everyone with respect
• Scheduling:
o Mangers will work 30 hours per week averaged for the season. Hours will be less at the beginning and end of the season and more during peak.
o Managers must coordinate amongst their co-managers to ensure there is one manager at the Roseville (Avian) or Grant (Mammal) location at most times
o Start and end dates are flexible based on availability
o Some evenings, weekends, and holidays are required
o Animal care is done 7am-midnight during the summer and 8a-8p during the off season
o Mammal managers will be working at both the Grant (10629 Jamaca, White Bear Lake, MN) and Roseville (2530 Dale St N, Roseville) locations
o Mammal Nursery Managers work from the beginning of March to the end of September; Avian Nursery Managers work from mid-April through the end of September
o Avian managers will be working at both the Inver Grove Heights location and the Roseville location
• Manager duties:
o Prepare nurseries for season and take down nurseries at the end
o Train and supervise nursery interns, advanced interns, nursery assistants, crew leaders and volunteers
o Maintain adequate supplies, caging and medical materials for nursery patients at all times and in all locations
o Follow and enforce all WRC policies and protocols

• Compensation:
o Manager positions are paid hourly at $10/hour.
o Hours range from a few weekly at the beginning and end of the season, to 30-40 hours/week at peak season
o This seasonal position does not provide health insurance, vacation days, or sick leave
o If personal vehicles are used for patient transport, WRC will pay for vehicle detailing at the end of the season

• Ability to prioritize and accomplish all needed tasks in a timely manner
• Preference will be given to individuals who have successfully worked in management positions in the past
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
