Baldi, our female Red-shouldered Hawk, has been with the Cornell Raptor Program since 2015. She is non-releasable due to a punctured cornea in her right eye, but is fully flighted and has no trouble moving around her mews. She is glove-trained and has been brought on education programs before, but she tends to get quickly stressed out on the glove, especially in front of crowds. She also has a history of mutilating her own primary feathers on her right wing, typically in the fall. For this reason we think she would thrive in a display setting or at a center where she is only occasionally handled on the glove, and given a robust enrichment program.
Baldi is currently possessed by the Cornell Raptor Program under a federal exempt status, and as such can only be placed with another federally exempt facility.
