The Avian Conservation Center / Center for Birds of Prey (“the Center”) is the most comprehensive avian organization of its kind in the nation combining medical care, education outreach, research, captive breeding, and oiled bird treatment to address the vital environmental issues of our time.

The primary responsibilities of the Avian Clinic Director are:

~ the daily care and treatment of approximately 700 injured birds of prey and shorebirds admitted annually for medical care and release;

~ coordinating and managing the daily procedural and administrative activities of the Avian Medical Clinic, including the supervision and training of clinic personnel; coordination with other agencies, veterinarians, and specialists;

~ overseeing the Center’s ongoing preparedness for a contaminant spill event requiring the treatment of impacted wild birds.

This is a full-time, salaried position that includes health insurance benefits and paid vacation. Starting salary is commensurate with experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years hands-on avian medical experience (wild birds)
• Organizational and team management experience
