The primary responsibilities of the Avian Clinic Director are:
~ the daily care and treatment of approximately 700 injured birds of prey and shorebirds admitted annually for medical care and release;
~ coordinating and managing the daily procedural and administrative activities of the Avian Medical Clinic, including the supervision and training of clinic personnel; coordination with other agencies, veterinarians, and specialists;
~ overseeing the Center’s ongoing preparedness for a contaminant spill event requiring the treatment of impacted wild birds.
This is a full-time, salaried position that includes health insurance benefits and paid vacation. Starting salary is commensurate with experience.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years hands-on avian medical experience (wild birds)
• Organizational and team management experience
