On-Site Intern
Pay: $0 + Free housing on site
Duration: 4 months
As an On-Site Intern, you are scheduled to 40 hours a week for wildlife rehabilitation duties.
Interns in the first 2 months: Learn baby rearing and animal husbandry
Hand feeding baby squirrels, baby birds, baby opossums, mastering care of Mammal Room and Songbird Room, learning other rooms such as Reptiles, Kitchen, Porch, assist in RVS rooms with cleaning/learning PPE practices
Interns in second two months: Learn more medical side of rehabilitation
Drawing up medications, performing rehabilitation treatment plans to critical animals/adult animals, assisting with intake examinations with full-time staff or rehabilitator, delivering medications orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, calculating medications, answering the phone to the public, receiving intakes from the public at the hospital entrance
Duties throughout four months: Hospital cleaning: sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, diet prep, facilities maintenance for both Hospital and Housing
