Brittany Maufort is a nonprofit executive, wildlife rehabilitator, and long-time animal lover with a deep appreciation for wildlife and conservation. Her passion for animals has been a constant throughout her life and ultimately led her to hands-on wildlife rehabilitation, where she cares for injured and orphaned native wildlife and supports local conservation and rehabilitation efforts.
Professionally, Brittany serves as Chief Financial Officer of a large Ohio-based nonprofit organization, where she provides executive oversight of finance, compliance, risk management, quality assurance, human resources, information technology, and facilities. She brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic financial leadership and operations, including senior roles with the State of Ohio. Her background supports strong nonprofit governance, responsible stewardship of resources, and mission-aligned decision-making in complex, regulated environments.
Through her rehabilitation work, Brittany has gained firsthand experience with the challenges and responsibilities involved in wildlife care. She is particularly passionate about evidence-based practices, ethical standards, continuing education, and collaboration across the wildlife rehabilitation community. She values the role organizations like the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council play in supporting rehabilitators, advancing professional standards, and strengthening public trust in wildlife care.
A U.S. Army veteran and Ohio resident, Brittany is honored to serve on the IWRC Board of Directors and to support the organization’s mission and long-term impact.
