With over 20 years of experience in Animal Welfare and Conservation, and proudly South African, this field is far more than a career for me—it’s a way of life. Home is a thatch-roofed haven shared with a motley crew of pets (and the occasional stray who decides to move in). You’ll usually find me behind a camera lens or tucked in a quiet corner reading —frequently accessorized with a fine layer of animal hair.
Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have inspiring mentors, and they’ve shaped my passion for paying it forward. I’m deeply committed to ensuring the next generation of conservationists has access to quality education and resources so they can continue the work of those who came before them. That’s why the IWRC’s mission—to bring internationally recognized skills development to professionals with limited access—resonates so strongly with me.
Having worked alongside wildlife rehab specialists across the globe, I’ve witnessed the many challenges they face and the profound difference a structured support system can make. Every place and person is unique, but we’re all bound by a shared love for wildlife and the wild places they call home.
As the IWRC continues to chart new territory, I remain hopeful and excited for what lies ahead.
