I’ve been part of the wildlife rehab community since the 90s, first helping my mother (who was a home rehabilitator) clean cages, prepare food, and answer phones and eventually becoming a primary caretaker myself at age 18 with Michigan Friends of Wildlife. In the years since, I obtained a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Guelph, interned with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, spent five years as a full time rehabilitator at PAWS Wildlife Center in Washington and another five in oil spill response with the UC Davis Oiled Wildlife Care Network. Before joining the IWRC team, I served as Assistant Conservation Director and Manager of Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Wildlife Care Center. Now I’m so excited to be supporting other wildlife rehabilitators (and the animals and public they serve) through my job at the IWRC!
