This juvenile American White Pelican is a sociable, calm and curious individual who is not limited by the loss of some metacarpals on one side. Unfortunately, this healed injury does leave her unable to fly as well as she would need to to survive in the wild. We believe she would make an incredible addition to a static display collection, as she will investigate new people, objects and environments readily. This young bird is highly food-motivated and would be a great candidate for training cooperative care behaviors and other behaviors as needed.
