After suffering a window strike, Roderick was treated for a humerus fracture and head trauma. He recovered well from his head injury, but his wing injury healed in such a way that it will permanently impede his flying ability.

Roderick’s calm, good-natured demeanor makes him well-suited for a static display or exhibit bird. Because of his wing injury and flight limitations, Roderick requires an enclosure with lots of low perches and ramps to help him get from place to place. When he flaps his wings, he struggles to get lift, but is able to easily navigate perches in his current enclosure (perches are roughly one foot apart at most).

Behaviorally, Roderick is rather timid. He doesn’t peck or show any aggression, but sometimes exhibits slight fear when running away, other times just sits there and gives into being caught/held.
