seeking Red-Tailed Hawk for education

Jefferson County Greenways in Birmingham, AL (Ruffner Mountain, Red Mountain Park, and Turkey Creek Nature Preserve) is seeking a Red-Tailed Hawk that is suitable for glove-training and education programs. Flighted is preferred, but we will accept any bird that will be a good fit for our education programs. Our only stipulation is that the bird must have the temperament for glove-training and education. We cannot accept display-only birds.

The bird will live at Ruffner Mountain in Birmingham, AL. We have very high welfare and care standards for all of our ambassador animals. I am their primary caretaker and I have 11 years of experience in raptor training and husbandry, and I would be happy to answer any questions about the care the bird will receive. The bird will live alone and we already have a mew ready for it. We are willing to travel up to 6 hours to pick up a bird (TN, MS, GA, KY, SC, AR), but a bird that is farther away than 6 hours must be shipped to us. We are willing to pay for shipping.
