New data collection
The IUCN SSC Wild Parrot Specialist Group Health and Welfare Subgroup is gathering information about individuals, flocks, populations and regional conservation impacts from disease and welfare issues. We are investigating the scope and scale of several pathogens, and this request focuses on Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease in wild parrots. If you work with wild parrots in your rehabilitation facility, clinic, or organization, we hope you will participate in this survey. It is fairly long, so be prepared. We know so little about this disease in the wild, and frankly, no one has inquired of wildlife rehabilitators, local or indigenous communities, bird guides, etc. So any information you can provide is immensely important. Survey: https://forms.gle/ANp4zMBjm6Bd5zya8 And please share with us any data or other information you feel is appropriate and pertinent. Images/videos are welcome; please send to the email below. Your information will be kept confidential and your permission will be sought if we have an opportunity to publish the results.
