Julissa Favela

Programs Manager

Julissa’s wildlife rehabilitation life started while working at a veterinary clinic in Humboldt county, CA. She happened upon a young screech owl sitting on her driveway one night. After frantically looking for someone to take them in a local wildlife rehabilitator was finally found. She then became involved with the local wildlife organization and took the IWRC basic course in 2004. Much later she went from active rehabilitator to working in the flip side of rehab with IWRC.  Most recently she rounded off her Fine Arts degree and completed a post baccalaureate degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Zoology. Life became more exciting after the birth of her twin girls. She loves going to the park with them, looking up to watch the planes and crows and all the other birds that the girls are beginning to name!
