Wildlife Care Specialist
The Wildlife Care Specialist is responsible for daily wildlife care tasks including cleaning animal enclosures and feeding and medicating patients. Supervised by the Wildlife Rehabilitation Director and Senior Wildlife Rehabilitators, Wildlife Care Specialists work closely with other staff members to ensure that all the husbandry needs of our wild patients are met and that NWR’s facilities are clean and healthy for our patients. Duties include bottle- and hand-feeding orphaned wildlife and providing for the nutritional and environmental needs of our adult wildlife; medicating wildlife under the supervision of our Veterinary Team; and helping to guide volunteers and interns in daily care tasks. This job requires a minimum of 500 hours of previous Wildlife Rehabilitation experience (with native wild animals).
