seeking Red-Tailed Hawk for education

Jefferson County Greenways in Birmingham, AL (Ruffner Mountain, Turkey Creek, and Red Mountain) is seeking a Red-Tailed Hawk with a temperament for glove-training and education. We are permitted for educational raptors and we have completed a beautiful, brand new enclosure that exceeds the federal standards for a flighted Red-Tail. We would prefer a flighted bird but will accept any Red-Tail with the temperament for glove-training. Our organizational needs currently only support glove-trainable bird and not static display birds.

We are willing to drive up to 4-5 hours (Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and potentially north Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, or South Carolina) to pick up a bird in-person. Candidates outside of driving distance will have to be shipped to us.

We are ready to submit a transfer request as soon as we find a suitable candidate.
