When approached by a frequent caregiver, the bird sits on a perch and waits. Comfortably eats in front of known caregivers.
This hawk is a bit more tense around strangers, and takes a few days to warm up to new places and eat in front of new people. If approached too quickly by a stranger, he will fly away.

This handsome hatch-year red-tailed hawk is not slowed down by his loss of vision in one eye and is ready for a home as an education bird! His left eye is not responsive to light or other stimuli, but is not visibly cloudy or otherwise distorted. Upon admission, he was around 850g and his steady weight floats just around 900g - due to his small size, we assume he is a male but he has not been DNA sexed.

This red-tailed hawk is fully flighted and is able to ambulate normally around an enclosure and we believe he would do well with glove and flight training, as he is very food-motivated! He is fairly light in coloration and will make a beautiful addition to an education team.
