Baby Box Turtle is Footloose and Fancy-Free
- off-site education animal
- static display animal
This adorable baby box turtle was rescued when a good samaritan noticed she is missing her two front hands, likely due to frostbite from being caught in a frost. As a young turtle, she is very active and still very curious about her surroundings, making her very adaptable to life as an educational ambassador. Despite her missing appendages, she gets around well but may appreciate a softer substrate in her enclosure to protect her nubs (wounds are fully healed).
