Fledgling
An American Crow (Corvus Brachyrhynchos) was rescued from Casper, Wyoming on June 6th, 2025. The crow is a fledgling. This patient was removed from a nest and kept in the reporting party's possession being fed by humans without appropriate gowns/covers leading to imprinting. The patient was reported to USFWS and transferred to Teton Raptor Center for further evaluation of secondary nutritional hyperparathyroidism as well as other metabolic/nutritional disturbances. This patient is clinically healthy and diagnosed as imprinted. Over the last two weeks, I and our team at Teton Raptor Center have evaluated this patient’s temperament and comfort and feel confident in recommending this patient as an education ambassador.

We are looking for an education facility that uses choice-based methods. Patient is fully flighted, extremely food motivated, and would do best with trainers that understand the needs of corvids in captivity: daily engagement, training, and enrichment. This patient is already doing excellent with voluntary medical examinations and choice based training.

Please fill out the below questionnaire and provide requested photos if interested. Please email our Hospital Manager: connnor@tetonraptorcenter.org or our Medical Director: salene@tetonraptorcenter.org with follow up questions. We look forward to chatting about this wonderful individual!
