Help Shape the Future of One Health Surveillance within the Wildlife Rehabilitation Community

We are inviting wildlife rehabilitation professionals to participate in an approximately 20-minute anonymous survey called PERCH (Perspectives on Engagement in Research Collaborations for One Health). PERCH is a national survey that asks about your experiences and perspectives related to One Health disease surveillance and research activities.

One Health recognizes the connections among human health, animal health, and the environment. Wildlife rehabilitation is an important part of this work, and the wildlife rehabilitation community is uniquely positioned to contribute to understanding animal health and detecting emerging diseases.

We want to learn from you. The survey will explore current involvement in surveillance and research and identify the opportunities, needs, motivations, and barriers that influence participation in collaborative One Health initiatives.

We are not evaluating rehabilitation facilities or seeking to create new operational requirements. Your feedback will help identify practical strategies for strengthening partnerships, improving communication and data sharing, and supporting meaningful integration of wildlife rehabilitation facilities into One Health surveillance efforts nationwide.

Who can participate? The survey is intended for individuals age 18 or older who are involved in wildlife rehabilitation in the United States, including:
o Full-time and part-time rehabilitation and animal care staff
o Veterinary personnel
o Executive directors, directors, managers, founders, and other leadership roles

Please complete the survey based on your experiences at your current wildlife rehabilitation facility or organization.

The survey is voluntary and anonymous. At the end of the survey, you will have the option to provide contact information separately if you are interested in participating in a follow-up interview or focus group. Providing contact information is optional and will not be linked to your survey responses.
