"Cricket" is a 3-month-old female barn swallow who was rescued after falling out of her nest as a partially feathered nestling. Attempts were unsuccessfully made to renest her and she was brought into human care. Although she thrived in rehab, it was determined that she sustained an eye injury due to the fall. Vet staff determined that enucleation was the best treatment for her injury. Cricket is fully flighted and eating insects from a bowl and will also take from hand.
